New Toy has arrived!

I am getting ready for my next Nancy Crow workshop and have been worrying about how to afford the photo printer that I want for it.  Well, our regular printer died so when we went shopping to replace it I said to my dear husband, "Oh, while we are buying printers, I also need a portable photo printer."  Silly man, he said okay.

The store didn't have any in-stock so I had dear husband's permission to order one on the internet.  Since he was paying (DEAR husband!) I bought a really fancy one instead of the stripped down model I was hoping to pinch pennies and buy myself.  Woooo Hooooo!  Here is a picture of my new Epson PictureMate Show Digital Frame and Compact Photo Printer - PM 300.

  2. Okay, I know this would be a really nice thing to have, but what exactly will you do with it? Is it for the class? ...just curious...

  3. Good question, Beth.

    It is used to "remember."

First, it can print what you have up on your design wall as you play with different designs trying to design the best quilt. Have you have had one of those--I liked it better before but what was it??--moments? This allows you to go back to the other design.

Second, it allows you to see in a different way what you have on the wall. It may look stunning to your eye but how will it photograph? Will that gorgeous detail come through or be lost in a sea of dark colors? (guess my design issue right now? LOL)

Third, it allows you to remember what goes where as you take pieces off the wall to sew together.

Fourth, it is lovely to record your progress as you work through from the original concept to each design iteration to a finished project that sometimes has little to do with its beginning.

When you are at home you can print pictures on your regular printer but having a small mobile unit allows you to do that where ever you are designing.
