First it was all about quilting and then dyeing and then I started making books and zentangling and drawing. Now I have given up on limiting myself and this is all about my creative journey. Hope you'll join me on my journey and invite me on yours!
This is such a wonderful idea! I wonder why someone didn't think of it sooner? Perhaps as we sit safely in our homes, we could remember that we are wrapped in safety through the work of our military.
I remember my mom making my sister a skirt out of the wool from my Dad's navy uniform.
There was a woman from the area who's husband was killed and they just had a baby - I don't think the father even got to hold his baby. I contacted the family to see if the mother would want me to make a quilt for the baby out of the husband's uniform as a thank you from me for his service. So far I have not heard back - I think it will take time to process the loss and let go of the uniforms.
